Director

Dee read English Language and Literature at the University of London and completed her doctoral dissertation on Aspects of Pilgrimage and their influence on Medieval English Literature at the University of Nottingham. She also holds an MA in Theology from Nottingham. She co-founded Christianity & Culture with Prof. Helen Phillips in 1999.

Dee's research interests and publications have focused primarily on the history, experience and significance of pilgrimage from the earliest centuries to the present day and the interaction of Christian belief and practice with various aspects of western culture, especially literature and art.

Development Officer

Louise read Medieval English and History at Birmingham University and has an MA In Archive Administration from UCL. Louise joined the Centre in 2009, having worked in partnership previously through her role at York Minster. Louise is currently engaged on a part-time PhD at York on the history of the stained glass of York Minster since 1500.

Design and Technical Editor

Patrick graduated from the University of York with an MSc in Archaeological Information Systems, and has worked for The Centre for the Study of Christianity and Culture since 2003. He provides design and technical expertise for the creation of C&C's digital resources, including Images of Salvation (2004), Pilgrims and Pilgrimage (2007) and The English Parish Church through the Centuries (2010).

Patrick also specialises in developing on-site digital interpretation schemes for churches and visitor attractions, and is a director of the heritage-sector IT specialists Heritage Technology Ltd.
